Fire ToadPrivacy policy
In short: everything you record in Fire Toad is stored on your device. The app has no account and no server, and it sends nothing to us. The only outside service it uses is Apple's App Store, for Fire Toad Pro subscriptions. It has no analytics, advertising or tracking.
Who we are
Fire Toad is published by its developer, as listed on the App Store ("we", "us"). Fire Toad is an offline record-keeping tool for fire safety inspections and preparing annual fire safety statements.
What the app stores, and where
To do its job, the app stores what you enter, on your device only:
- building details (name, address, BCA class, owner or owners corporation),
- fire safety schedules, measures, inspection results, notes and defects,
- photos and documents you attach,
- your practitioner and company details (name, company, ABN, accreditation or licence number, phone, email, address, logo).
Some of this is personal information about building owners, contacts and practitioners. You decide what to enter.
What we collect
Nothing. The app does not send your data to us or to any third party, and we cannot see or access it. There is no sign-in, no cloud sync, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party tracking.
Purchases
Fire Toad Pro, a monthly or yearly subscription, is bought through Apple's App Store. Apple handles the payment and the renewals, and we receive no payment details or personal information from it. The app checks your subscription on your device with Apple's StoreKit, so there is still no account and nothing is sent to us.
Camera and photos
The app asks for camera and photo library access only when you choose to attach a photo, for example of a defect. These photos stay on your device inside the app.
When data leaves your device
Only when you choose to send it. Exporting or emailing a report, the AFSS document, a CSV logbook or a backup, or copying text, opens your device's share sheet, print dialog or a new email. You decide where it goes: email, Files, AirDrop, a printer, and so on. Those services handle the data under their own terms.
Keeping and deleting your data
Your data stays on your device until you delete it in the app or delete the app. Deleting the app removes your records from your device. iOS keeps one small item in the iPhone Keychain: which reports used your 3 free reports (an inspection id and a check code, no report content), so the count survives reinstalling. Because we hold no copy, we cannot recover your records, so keep your own exports or backups of anything important.
Security
Your data is protected by your device's own security: its passcode, biometrics and encryption. Keep your device locked and up to date.
Children
Fire Toad is a professional tool and is not directed at children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If the app ever starts collecting data, this page will say so before that happens.
